Four Arab countries take part in huge controversial naval exercises in the Black Sea

Four Arab countries will join the "Naseem al-Bahr" naval maneuvers, which will be launched at the end of this month in the Black Sea, as participants or observers, namely Tunisia, the UAE, Morocco and Egypt.

Some countries that do not have any official relations or whose relations are going through a critical period of tension, such as Israel, Turkey and Pakistan, will participate in these naval exercises, which are the largest of their kind in the region since 1997.

The newspaper "Israel Today" reported that 5,000 soldiers will participate in this naval maneuver, dubbed "Naseem al-Bahr", in addition to 32 ships, 40 aircraft and 18 commando teams, making it "the largest joint exercise since 1997."

These exercises are described as an important NATO event, despite the participation of dozens of non-NATO countries as participants or observers.

The list of participating countries includes "the United States, Ukraine, Britain, Israel, Albania, Australia, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Denmark, Egypt, Estonia, France, Georgia, Greece, Italy and Japan. In addition to Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Morocco, Norway, Pakistan, Poland, Romania, Senegal, Spain, South Korea, Sweden, Tunisia, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates."

The US Navy stated that these naval military exercises, which will last for 12 days, will include, among others, "amphibious warfare, land maneuver warfare, diving operations, maritime interception operations, air defense, special operations integration, anti-submarine warfare, and search and rescue operations."

The Russian embassy in Washington had warned earlier that the size of the US-Ukrainian "Sea Breeze" exercises in the Black Sea increases the risk of unintended incidents there.

The Russian diplomatic mission to the United States explained that Russia, for this reason, calls on the United States and its allies to abandon these maneuvers.

In a tweet on its Twitter account, the Russian embassy in Washington said: "The size and the obviously aggressive nature of these maneuvers are completely incompatible with the real security tasks in the Black Sea region."
