London: The fall of Russian missiles on NATO countries is not excluded, and we will respond

Amid the high level of tension between Russia and NATO countries against the backdrop of the war in Ukraine, Britain considered that the fall of Russian missiles on the territory of NATO countries is not excluded.

British Health Minister Sajid Javid said today, Monday, in an interview with the BBC, that it is not impossible for Russian missiles to fall on the territory of the Atlantic, but at the same time considered it highly unlikely.

However, he stressed that if a similar situation occurred, the alliance would respond.

He also added that the West made this clear to Moscow, even before the conflict began.

Bombing a base near Poland

These statements came after a Ukrainian military training base near Poland was attacked yesterday, the first of its kind, in terms of its proximity to the borders of a NATO country.

This prompted Warsaw to dispatch soldiers to the border near the Yavoriv base that was targeted, according to what was stated yesterday by Al-Arabiya/Al-Hadath correspondent in Poland.

While the governor of the city of Lviv, near the location of the base in the west of the country, explained that Russia fired 30 missiles, confirming that 35 people were killed and 60 others were wounded in the air strikes.

While the Russian Defense Ministry later confirmed that the base formed a headquarters for receiving weapons from abroad and training fighters.

It is noteworthy that the Kremlin had previously stressed, in a letter to the NATO countries that support Kiev, that sending qualitative weapons or banning flights over Ukrainian airspace, or even engaging in any field in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, would be considered a hostile act, thus justifying the right of the Russians. to defend their country.

Since the launch of the military operation announced by Moscow on February 24, tension has escalated in an unprecedented manner between Russia and the West, which has entailed a security alert in Europe.

That operation also imposed harsh and painful sanctions on the Russians, amounting to more than 5,000 companies, banks, politicians and many wealthy people, even punishing Russian President Vladimir Putin himself, his Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, as well as Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.
