Russian Security Council: We will use nuclear weapons to defend our existence

Medvedev: "All these cases are listed in a special document, and this indicates the state's determination to defend its sovereignty."

Dmitry Medvedev, deputy head of the Russian Security Council, said on Saturday that there are several cases in which Russia has the right to use nuclear weapons, according to what was reported by the Russian "Novosti" news agency.

The deputy head of the Russian Security Council said: "We will use nuclear weapons if we are subjected to a nuclear attack or an act that threatens our existence even without the use of nuclear weapons against us."

Medvedev stated that "all these cases are listed in a special document, and this indicates the determination of the state to defend its sovereignty, but nevertheless, in difficult situations, negotiations are the best and most correct way."

The deputy head of the Russian Security Council described relations between Russia and Western countries as worse than during the Cold War.

Medvedev added that the West is seeking to wage an economic war against Russia without rules.

He also described Western accusations of Russian leaders that they are working to flood the country as baseless slanders.

The Russian army will continue its military operations in Ukraine, Saturday, for the thirty-first day in a row, since President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022 the start of those operations.
