The world's largest food company suspends most of its business in Russia

Nestle, the world's largest food maker, has confirmed it will suspend the vast majority of its industry in Russia amid mounting pressure on multinational companies to exit the country completely after the war on Ukraine.

The Swiss company said it would stop selling brands such as KitKat and Nesquik, and would focus on basic foods including baby food and medical nutrition.

The company explained that it is working on finding solutions for its six factories and its seven thousand employees in Russia, stressing that it will continue to pay their wages in addition to donating any profits from the Russian market to humanitarian relief organizations.

It is noteworthy that Nestle achieved 2% of its global revenue from the Russian market in 2021.
