The value of Egypt's gas exports increased by 98% in the first 4 months of 2022

Data issued by the Egyptian Ministry of Petroleum, seen by Reuters on Tuesday, revealed that the value of Egypt's exports of natural and liquefied gas during the first four months of this year increased by 98 percent compared to the same period last year, reaching $3.892 billion.

According to the data, the value of Egypt's natural gas exports increased during 2021 by 768.2% to reach $3.959 billion, compared to $456 million in 2020.

The Egyptian Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tarek El Molla, affirmed in an exclusive interview with "Sky News Arabia" on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum "Davos 2022" that energy security is the most important challenge facing the world at the present time.

Speaking of Egypt's gas exports to Europe, El-Molla said that Egyptian gas exports will not be able to compensate for Russian exports, but they may cover only a small part.

The Egyptian minister also made it clear that his country will be able to increase supplies in the medium and long term in light of cooperation between the countries of the eastern Mediterranean through the Organization of Eastern Mediterranean Gas Countries, given that it possesses very large reserves of gas.
