A "terrifying number"... Experts estimate the number of victims in the event of a nuclear attack

The possibility of "nuclear war" has increasingly emerged, since Russia launched large-scale military operations in neighboring Ukraine last February, amid questions about the extent of the losses that the world would incur, if things slipped into the abyss between the West and Moscow.

According to the British newspaper "Express", questions are raised about the number of people who may die, if nuclear weapons were used, on the sidelines of the current war in Ukraine.

Since the last nuclear attack in Japan took place about a century ago, it is difficult today to give accurate estimates about the extent of the expected damage, in the event of a nuclear bomb.

It is worth noting that Russia possesses an estimated 5,977 nuclear warheads, which is the largest arsenal of nuclear warheads in the world.

There is not enough information about these warheads, because they are among the top-secret matters that only a few senior officials in the Kremlin know.

Experts say that the "Tsar Bomba" represents the most powerful nuclear bomb ever developed, from the times of the Soviet Union, under the supervision of the brilliant physicist, Igor Khochatov.

According to estimates based on simulations published on the "Outrider.org" website, if this bomb, "Tsar Bomba", was dropped on populated places in the world, it would lead to millions of deaths instantly.

The source added that in the scenario of dropping the bomb on London, for example, the nuclear attack would leave about 4.6 million dead, in addition to 3 million wounded.

As for the radiation of the bomb's fireball, it can reach a range of more than 70 kilometers from the site of the explosion, which means burning the entire British capital.

In a second possibility, if this bomb was dropped on the American capital, Washington, and specifically over the White House, it would most likely lead to 1.8 million instant deaths.

And if a similar bomb was thrown over the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, which began to restore normal life after Russia focused its operation on the east, the attack would leave 2.1 million dead and more than 400 thousand injured.

The simulation shows that New York is the most western city that will be affected, in the event of a nuclear attack, due to its high population density, because “Tsar Bomba” can leave 6 million dead instantly, along with 3.9 million injured due to radiation and heat.
