Egypt before the International Court of Justice: Israel deliberately makes life in Gaza impossible

Yasmine Moussa, legal advisor to the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, said before the International Court of Justice on Wednesday that the Palestinian people are now facing collective punishment after 75 years of displacement, incitement, ongoing violence and ongoing suffering.

“Yasmine” added in Egypt’s testimony before the International Court of Justice regarding Israeli practices in the occupied Palestinian territories, that while the court is meeting, massacres are still continuing in the Gaza Strip, leaving more than 29 thousand civilian martyrs, in addition to about 1.3 million displaced people, stressing that What is happening at the moment is nothing but a violation of international law.

The legal advisor confirmed that Israel deliberately makes life bad inside the Gaza Strip to make living impossible, as it starves the Palestinians and besieges them by continuously preventing the arrival of aid and imposing obstacles in this regard.

The occupation is illegal and violates the principles of international law

She stated that the Security Council failed more than once to achieve a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, while the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories is illegal and violates the principles of international law.

Egypt's legal advisor confirmed that there is no political horizon yet for resolving the Palestinian issue, and that stability in the Middle East will not be achieved except by recognizing an independent Palestinian state.

She continued, "Israel's occupation of Palestinian territories by expanding settlements is illegal, and that the Israeli force must refrain from expanding its settlement operations, and that international law stipulates the illegality of expanding settlements."

Counselor Yasmine Moussa stated before the International Court of Justice that the occupying authority has a clear intention to isolate Palestine and undermine its authorities, and that there is evidence confirming that Israel deliberately caused demographic changes in the Palestinian territories.

It explained to the court that Israel is still defying Security Council resolutions and Tel Aviv must end its occupation of the Palestinian territories in accordance with UN resolutions and international laws.

The Egyptian Foreign Ministry's legal advisor pointed out that Israel's attempts to bring about demographic change in Jerusalem are illegal, and that its attempt to seize Palestinian lands by force is contrary to international law.

Egypt denounces the Israeli restrictions

She said that the Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip is not self-defense, but rather a brutal war, pointing out that Egypt believes that Israel ignores the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination and denounces the Israeli restrictions imposed on the Palestinians.

She continued: "Egypt sees the Israeli occupation as a violation of international law and has submitted a request to recognize the Palestinians' right to self-determination."

Egypt's legal advisor noted that the Israeli occupation is working to undermine Palestinian rights, as well as the movements of Palestinians in Al-Aqsa Mosque, calling for the necessity of putting an end to Israeli military operations in the Palestinian territories.

She called for an end to Israeli violations and policies of racial discrimination and oppression, pointing out that what the Israeli occupation is doing in the Palestinian territories is a crime against humanity, and that the right to self-defense has nothing to do with Israel’s policies in the occupied territories.

Yasmine Moussa pointed out that Israel must respect international law and stop the occupation without conditions and permanently, and that no country in the world has the right to use force to achieve its goals.
