Sanctions affected 200 Russian individuals and entities.

The Swiss government announced Wednesday that it has adopted more European Union sanctions against 200 Russian individuals and entities that were published on Tuesday, in response to Moscow's invasion of Ukraine.

The Swiss government, which has always remained neutral in international disputes, added that "the Swiss sanctions list now fully reflects that of the European Union," adding that the individuals subject to sanctions include more elite and prominent businessmen whose assets in Switzerland should be frozen from midday.

Britain also announced, yesterday, that it had imposed sanctions on the richest Russians, whose fortunes are estimated at 100 billion pounds.

The British Foreign Office said the latest round of sanctions imposed by Britain on Tuesday included elites worth 100 billion pounds ($130.63 billion), including Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov and spokeswoman Maria Zakharova.
