On Sunday, the Iranian Revolutionary Guards threatened Israel with a "decisive and destructive" response to any attacks that might occur in the future.
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard announced that it had targeted an Israeli "strategic center" in northern Iraq, hours after the authorities of the Kurdistan region of Iraq announced the fall of ballistic missiles fired "from outside the borders" in the vicinity of Erbil and the US consulate there.
In a statement posted on their website, Sepah News, the Guard said: "Following the recent crimes of the false Israeli regime and our previous declaration that the actions it committed will not go unanswered, the strategic center of conspiracy and malicious acts was targeted last night with powerful missiles from the Revolutionary Guards".
He continued, "Once again, we warn the criminal Israeli regime that the repetition of any malicious acts will face harsh, decisive and destructive reactions".
And earlier on Sunday, Iranian state television announced that the missile attacks on Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan region in northern Iraq, targeted "secret Israeli bases".
Kurdish officials said that dozens of ballistic missiles fired from outside Iraq targeted Erbil, adding that there were no casualties.
Iraq has a wide eastern border with Iran, which has political and economic influence in Iraq, and supports armed factions in it.
