Lavrov denounces "unprecedented hostility to Russia" .. the tools are many

On Friday, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov accused the West of waging a "total war" against his country, expecting it to last "a long time".

"The West has declared an all-out war against us, against the entire Russian world," Lavrov said during a meeting with Russian regional officials.

At a time when the Western powers tightened sanctions on Moscow in response to the Russian military attack on Ukraine, Lavrov said that "it can be said with confidence that this situation will haunt us for a long time."

"The United States and its henchmen are redoubling their efforts to contain Russia using a very wide range of tools, from unilateral economic sanctions to massively false propaganda in the global media," he said, denouncing "unprecedented hostility to Russia."

He pointed out that "the culture of abolition of Russia and everything related to our country has reached an absurd level," denouncing the banning of major Russian writers, musicians and artists in the West such as Tchaikovsky, Dostoevsky, Tolstoy and Pushkin.

Several Western cultural institutions have suspended their cooperation with Russian official bodies and banned artists who support the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
