Blinken calls on Beijing to use its "influence" to restore calm in the Middle East

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken on Saturday called on his Chinese counterpart, Iran's strong partner, to use Beijing's influence to restore calm in the Middle East.

US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said that Blinken, who visited Saudi Arabia today, Saturday, had a “productive” phone call with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, which lasted an hour, according to Agence France-Presse.
