Ethiopia continues to provoke and describes the European Union's position as "biased" with Egypt on the Renaissance Dam

The Ethiopian Foreign Ministry attacked the statement issued recently by the European Union regarding the “Renaissance Dam,” claiming that the statement does not take into account the common interests between countries and that it preserves Egyptian interests.

On Thursday, Ethiopian Foreign Ministry spokesman, Dina Mufti, claimed that "the statement asserting that the security of water supplies to Egypt is untouchable is biased" and "unacceptable."

He pointed out that the European Union should review this position, pointing out that it was an observer of the tripartite negotiations between Ethiopia, Egypt and Sudan regarding the Renaissance Dam.

Mufti stressed that Ethiopia will continue its policy of not harming any of the Nile River countries as a result of the Renaissance Dam, and it is willing to work in cooperation with it.

The Association Council between Egypt and the European Union issued a joint statement on June 20, stressing "the importance of the Nile as the only source of water resources and life in Egypt."
